Happy Thanksgiving Y’all

Welcome to my crazy Plein Air Adventures blog.

Beauty is where you find it. And sometimes it’s found by climbing over a few fences to get to an unusual subject.

Thats part of what makes outdoor painting ( ein Air) so interesting to me. There are always and interesting things to be discovered and painted.

I just want to pop in to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving

Until next time my friends, keep creating and God Bless y’all.

Q & A

Who is this gal name J.D. Fields

🎨 My name is J.D. Fields and I love to draw and paint nature.

🎨 I was born in Southern California but I’m a two-time transplanted to Texas which I now call home.

πŸŽ¨ I married my best friend and soul mate in 1998.

🎨 My husband has three children, two boy and a girl and I have one girl and two boys. When we got married, we put them altogether and call us all family

🎨 I am acrylic artist but I love to play with watercolor, watercolor pencils and color pencils.

πŸŽ¨ When did I start learning to draw? I can remember being two and half years old laying on my grandma kitchen floor trying to draw the animal on her land.

πŸŽ¨ Growing up I have been able to explored many different medium – Fabric Art, Crocheting, Oil Paint, Pen & Ink Painting and Color Pencils, Charcoal and Graphite Pencil. Along with acrylic painting.

πŸŽ¨ Do you sell your work? Yes, I sell my originals, painting, drawing and greeting cards online and in galleries.

🎨 Do you teach classes? Yes, I teach Acrylic for Beginner’s workshop to adult. I also teach drawing and Acrylics for teens.

🎨 Back in the early 2000 I had wanted to try my hand in plein air.      In July 2013 I took the plug and never look back.

🎨 Whether I’m in my studio or outdoors I am still learning to draw upon those early influences in a way that I look at life, the subject I chooses and the matter in which I paints.

Travel plans with art

It has been a while since I last spoke to all of you. I have not been able to get outdoors to paint or draw due to that fact that I am still having issues with my CK levels and now I have cataracts too.

But I am not going to let this stop me for I am planning on having surgery early next year so I can get back to Plein air and also participate in the Historic Paint Waxahachie Event in May. Plus any other event that I run across before the summer hits. But in the meantime I will have hubby take me out this month so I can get back into the swing of things.

Β Β  So with that said, to anyone who will be traveling this Christmas season and are thinking of taking your oil paints with you on the plane, here is a little helpful tip from Jerry Art Arama.

Β Β  Plus here is another tip that I have found useful with all wet mediums. It doesn’t matter if you fly, drive, train or bus, do this every time you travel.
Β Β  Wrap each tub of paint in plastic wrap and place them in a storage bag. Once they are all bag, place then in a larger storage bag for travel.
Β Β  This will guarantee that if a tub opens, leak, etc. It will not get all over your art supply or clothes. Also if you are traveling by plane make use you contact the manufacturer for an info page on taking you art paints on the plane.

Β Β  I also want to wish you a big …
