Getting things ready for PHW

Welcome to my crazy Plein Air Adventures blog.

Beauty is where you find it. And sometimes it’s found by climbing over a few fences to get to an unusual subject.

That’s part of what makes outdoor painting ( ein Air) so interesting to me. There are always interesting things to be discovered and painted.

I want to pop in to let y’all know what is happening in my little word of Plein Air.

I am still in recovery, but I am happy to report that I no longer in the need my wheelchair. 👏👏👏. I am walking on my own now.

I still have to have hubby drive me around, though, but it is nice to have someone with whom I can share my love of plein air.

The Ellis County Art Association is working hard on this year Paint Historic Waxahachie Event, and I am one of the co-chair for this event.

One of the things that I am in charge of is to put together suggestions for places for artists to paint in the Ellis County area.

We have artists who come from all over Texas and some that come out of state. For the last 8 years, I have heard from artists, including myself… “What towns are there in Ellis County to paint?” When we paint in May, we paint the city of Waxahachie. Again, I heard, “Where is the city limits?”

Well, this year, I have done the research and hubby, and I have been going to each town to see what there is to paint. What I have found is a lot of historical homes, buildings, animals, barns, farmland, etc. So this year we should have a great turnout of artists.

Plus, I am so looking forward to getting back out there again and getting my feet wet with my graphite pencils, watercolor paints, but most of all, my acrylic paint again.

Until next time, my friends keep creating, and God bless y’all.

🎨 My husband has three children, two boy and a girl and I have one girl and two boys. When we got married, we put them altogether and call us all family

🎨 I am acrylic artist but I love to play with watercolor, watercolor pencils and color pencils.

🎨 When did I start learning to draw? I can remember being two and half years old laying on my grandma kitchen floor trying to draw the animal on her land.

🎨 Growing up I have been able to explored many different medium – Fabric Art, Crocheting, Oil Paint, Pen & Ink Painting and Color Pencils, Charcoal and Graphite Pencil. Along with acrylic painting.

🎨 Do you sell your work? Yes, I sell my originals, painting, drawing and greeting cards online and in galleries.

🎨 Do you teach classes? Yes, I teach Acrylic for Beginner’s workshop to adult. I also teach drawing and Acrylics for teens.

🎨 Back in the early 2000 I had wanted to try my hand in plein air.      In July 2013 I took the plug and never look back.

🎨 Whether I’m in my studio or outdoors I am still learning to draw upon those early influences in a way that I look at life, the subject I chooses and the matter in which I paints.
