Beauty is where you find it. And sometimes it’s found by climbing over a few fences to get to that’s part of what makes outdoor painting (Plein Air) so interesting to me.
There are always new and interesting things to be discovered and painted.

After the rain in Corsicana I had decided not to go back and I am glad I did. It continue to rain out there but in Maypearl it was over cast, cool and a little breeze but nice and quiet.
I had been wanting to go back and paint this little old gate. So I decided to go the Maypearl instead of Corsicana.
Once I got to my spot I decided to use a smaller set up. That was the wrong thing to do. It toke me long to set up than if I had use my larger set up.
As I was painting I had a few folks drive by. But because I was by my self I kept looking over my shoulder. By the time I was done painting I had a sore neck.
In the first photo (I had taken that photo when I painted the barn a while back) the purple, blue and white little flowers had not come up yet when I took that photo, only the yellow ones were out. So when I came back to paint the gate the yard was full of these colorful flowers. The only thing that I embellish was the vine that was crawing up the post. It was only green and did not show well in the paint so I add color to it.
